Keep the noise out. Give your folders useful connections. Spend more time with your ideas and less time maintaining the structure around them.

Early filtering and performance controls are Free. Full adds automatic folder, root and Home navigation that keeps pace with your work.

Available for Windows desktop · Version 1.0.0

01 / FOCUS

Choose what belongs.

Use early exclusions to keep unwanted files and directories out of supported discovery and graph processing. Your original documents stay in place.

02 / CONNECTION

Make structure useful.

Preview folder navigation for free. Add Full for ordinary Markdown index notes and automatic upkeep as you create, move and rename.

03 / OWNERSHIP

Keep your work yours.

Your notes, writing, existing folder pages and links stay accessible. A purchased 1.x license is permanent, with no recurring renewal.

TWO EDITIONS. ONE LOCAL FOUNDATION.

Free is worth keeping.
Full keeps things moving.

Start with the protections and controls that suit your vault. With Full navigation enabled, use Obsidian as a live view of your repository’s documentation: tables of contents keep up as you or your agents work, and real note links let the graph grow with your project while Obsidian is open.

FREE

A focused, manageable vault.

For people who want early filtering, bounded resource controls, read-only navigation previews and recovery without buying automatic navigation.

No purchase or trial required for Free features.
FULL

A living navigation layer.

Everything in Free, plus automatically refreshed folder-index, root and optional Home navigation. As you or your agents add, move or remove eligible files, configured tables of contents update with real Markdown links to your original documents.

Automatic upkeep, with permanent purchased 1.x rights.

Obsidian displays changes to included vault files; Full maintains the configured navigation links. The native graph follows notes and their links, rather than turning every code file into a graph node. Updates are batched and depend on native file detection and indexing; a periodic catch-up pass covers missed events while open. Performance depends on your vault, hardware and supported host version. No fixed speed increase is promised. Local recovery supplements your independent backups.

FOR DEVELOPERS & AI WORKSPACES

Your repositories. Your notes.
A clearer working map.

Bring development documentation, project decisions and AI-assisted work into an Obsidian workspace you can navigate. Keep your repository structure, use ordinary Markdown for shared project context, and choose which files belong in the vault’s working view.

01

Keep the reasoning with the work

Connect architecture notes, decisions, tasks and runbooks to the projects they explain. Find the reason behind a change alongside the material you are developing.

02

Give your preferred AI useful context

With approved file or app access, your assistant can work with project notes and repositories, help explain settings, and leave clear handoffs for the next session.

03

Make busy repositories easier to navigate

Choose exclusions for dependency folders, build outputs and caches. Preview folder links, then use Full navigation upkeep to keep configured indexes current as eligible files move.

04

Explore the connections that matter

Use native links and backlinks, plus optional Graph Views: Overview for the wider vault, Focused Writing around selected notes, and Structure from your project contents note.

When the graph gets crowded, investigate before you delete.

When bulky repos or duplicate-looking nodes appear, check their full paths before cleaning up. Same-named notes, worktrees, clones and cross-links can be legitimate. Start with targeted exclusions and focused views; review changes and backups before moving or deleting anything.

Your AI needs access you deliberately provide through its own file or app tools. These plugins do not bundle an AI assistant or grant one control of Obsidian. Check current platform compatibility and use the supported controls available to your setup.

Copy a setup prompt for your preferred AI

Choose the vault and repository locations your assistant may access, then paste this prompt into its chat. Start with one small project.

Help me connect my Obsidian vault, development repositories and AI workspace using base Obsidian, Vault Foundations and optional Graph Views.

Start by identifying the vault and repository locations I approve, my Obsidian/plugin versions, existing project instructions and the tools you can actually use. Ask only for missing paths or permissions. Check current compatibility and Free/Full access before proposing settings.

Build on my current layout. Keep source code authoritative in its repository and preserve my existing notes. Recommend a practical arrangement for project overviews, architecture, decisions, tasks, runbooks and handoffs. Link useful existing material instead of copying whole repositories or producing duplicate notes. Do not relocate repositories or introduce symlinks without agreement.

Help configure deliberate exclusions for observed dependency folders, source-control internals, build outputs, caches and irrelevant clones/worktrees. Keep authored documentation and important project files accessible. Check Git ignore rules and Obsidian/Vault Foundations exclusions separately; one does not configure the other.

Use Vault Foundations' preview before enabling Full folder-navigation upkeep. Let it own its generated sections and preserve handwritten content outside those markers. Do not run a second folder-index writer. Help me use Obsidian search, links and backlinks, then Graph Views' Overview, Focused Writing and Structure views around a useful project contents note.

With my approved tools, help read and update project notes, investigate code, explain plugin settings and leave concise decisions and next steps as work progresses. Use supported app controls when available; otherwise give precise manual steps. Do not invent plugin APIs or claim to control an app you cannot access.

When a repo becomes bulky or duplicate-looking graph nodes appear, investigate full paths and file identities first. Distinguish actual duplicate files from same-named notes, legitimate worktrees, repository clones, symlinks, generated indexes and ordinary cross-links. Prefer targeted exclusions and focused views before proposing moves or removal. Check repository status, uncommitted work, backlinks and recoverable backups before an approved cleanup. Never merge or delete by title alone.

Show a short plan, then make the changes I approve. Keep secrets, licensing records and private material out of shared notes or uploads. Ask before installations, destructive cleanup, repository restructuring, external sharing or broader permissions.

Start with one small, non-sensitive project. Finish with the layout, settings and example workflow, what you changed, what you verified in Obsidian, and any steps that still need my input.

WHAT FULL ADDS

Make whole directories
part of your graph.

Give folders a place on the native graph through small Markdown index notes. Full maintains the configured links while you work in the original documents.

Create a note. Move a project. Rename a folder. Eligible navigation catches up while Obsidian is open, or when you next open the vault.

Personal writing outside the marked generated sections remains yours. Managed-note recovery and conflict checks support safer updates.

WHEN A TRIAL ENDS

Your work stays yours.
Free stays useful.

New Full automation pauses. Your vault does not disappear behind a paywall.

Your notes and ordinary editing

Existing folder pages, links and annotations

Free filtering and performance controls

Read-only previews, settings and recovery

Trial access needs periodic online checks. After a successful check, signed offline access lasts up to 24 hours and never beyond your original 30-day trial end. If that allowance expires, Full automation pauses until access is verified again; your Free features and existing content remain available.

THE FOUNDERS WINDOW

The three-month countdown starts when Obsidian formally accepts Vault Foundations into Community Plugins. We will publish exact timestamps, measured as three UTC calendar months from verified acceptance. Portal launch, enrollment and payment-provider approval do not start it.

An original trial started before the cutoff keeps founders pricing through the later of the cutoff or its original 30-day deadline. A final-day start keeps its full 30-day purchase opportunity. Already-open, server-created checkout quotes are honored.

Checkout will show tax and the final total before any payment. All sales are final except applicable legal remedies and payment-provider obligations. Major-version timing varies; a new major version does not itself end 1.x support or shorten permanent 1.x rights. Updates and reasonable-efforts support follow our published policies.

LOCAL WORK. CLEAR BOUNDARIES.

Your vault belongs
with you.

Filtering, navigation and resource tuning run locally. The licensing flow does not upload note contents, vault names, paths, filenames, directory inventories or hardware identifiers.

Online services handle necessary sign-in, licensing and purchase records. An activated purchased 1.x proof works offline without recurring renewal; initial activation and lost-proof recovery need connectivity.

A FEW PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Clear before you begin.

Can I use one license on a desktop and laptop?

Yes. One named person can use their license across their authorized devices and vaults, with no numeric device or vault limit. Sign in with the same account on each supported computer. Each stores its own protected activation. A team or household needs a seat for each person; credentials are not shared.

How do the manual site and Community Plugins work together?

One release, two installation channels: our manual download site and Obsidian Community Plugins. Both use the same Vault Foundations plugin identity. The purchase belongs to your account, not the download channel. Update in place and reconnect if needed. Preserve settings, state and recovery files; do not uninstall to switch channels. In-place replacement and account continuity passed isolated tests; the Community delivery verification remains part of that channel’s review. Community approval is still pending.

Which computers and Obsidian versions are supported?

Currently verified: Windows desktop with Obsidian 1.14.4 or 1.14.5. Other host versions, macOS, Linux and Android are not currently advertised as supported. Back up your vault and configuration and verify restoration before enabling automation or updating.

How does this work with Graph Views?

Graph Views is a separate, optional free companion from ARCXCOVAEL LLC. Vault Foundations maintains configured folder and document links; Graph Views helps you explore those connections on the native graph. It has its own MPL-2.0 license and installation, and is not required or bundled. Explore Graph Views.

What does proprietary licensing mean for my notes?

Vault Foundations’ proprietary software is licensed under its included agreement. Your notes, generated Markdown, annotations and ordinary links remain yours to read, edit, export and share. Identified third-party components retain their own licenses. A U.S. copyright registration application has been filed; examination is pending. This does not claim a registration certificate has been issued. Read the exact license.

What support do you provide?

Email support covers installation, supported-host compatibility, account/licensing help, recovery and product problems on a reasonable-efforts basis. There is no fixed response-time guarantee or promise of compatibility with every future host release. Releasing a later major version does not itself end 1.x support. Read the support policy.
